This is the second outfit I came up with in reply to Damart's challenge to style a faux fur gilet two different ways (you can see the first outfit here). I went for a look suitable for an evening out this time and absolutely love it - it proved to me what a great piece the gilet is.
I reckon a pair of skinny jeans with a great blouse, jewellery and heels is perfect for a night out or date night, but the problem with this time of year is what to wear to keep out the chill after dark.
It's generally too mild for a winter coat, and yet you need something to keep you warm - this is where the fur gilet comes in.
My theory is it'll keep you warm on your way to the restaurant/bar/party, but you can also leave it on if necessary when you get there as it just looks so stylish - unlike a coat you won't look silly if you don't take it off. Whether you leave it on or off, you've got a great evening look right there with that statement necklace (mine's very old, I've no idea where I got it), killer heels and a small clutch.
