That's it, I've gone full-on 70s style. The temptation to pair my boho blouse (similar) with my Marks & Spencer flared jeans was too much: I usually say don't go for a head-to-toe retro look from one specific decade unless you want to recreate that era, but this was one of those times that I did. (Want to recreate that era, I mean.)
I also know that the way the flared jeans trend is 'meant' to be worn this season is with (block) heels, but to be honest it was the weekend, I was walking to the supermarket and I just wanted to be practical and comfortable. So I reached for my Converse Chuck Taylors. And did a centre parting. And if that's not 70s style, I don't know what is...! The only exception to the 70s theme was my new white leather backpack from Asos. I've been looking for a smart backpack for a while (my mini plaid backpack just doesn't look right in the summer), and I think this one will see me through the winter as well - I liked the contrast of the white leather against an off-white boho lace blouse.
I must mention the jeans as I'm gutted that these M&S ones are sold out; they're the perfect flared jeans with the front patch pockets I'd been longing for all year... I'd tried on a few and none were as flattering as these. These jeans from Asos are the nearest I've found to mine, however, and very reasonably priced.
Are you into the flared jeans yet? I was thinking of doing a post where I road-test a selection of high street flared jeans - is this of interest to anyone? Let me know in the comments!
