I think the answer to the question "how do you style a two-tone midi scuba dress" is easy: Very, very simply, because the dress does all the work when it's this fabulous. I'd had my eye on this one for a while after researching dresses to wear to a wedding for a reader who emailed me asking for advice - in my search I found this Asos midi dress in scuba fabric. It turned out I couldn't stop thinking about it, and then someone on Twitter advertised a 20% discount code... Well hello, my first scuba-anything!
I wore it with my red Brenda MacLeod tote bag and woollen Asos heels from two years ago (they're gorgeous but sadly no longer available) - I will admit I had a cropped navy sweater on for much of the day due to it being chilly, but I had to photograph the dress in all its naked glory for the blog. I think it can actually be quite a dressed down piece if you style it right: with a sweater you only see the grey marl part, and grey marl always looks casual, even more so with flats. But the fabric is so comfortable and so squidgy and the skirt is so pouffy... Asos have come up trumps. Again.
Have you bought anything in this new scuba fabric, or are you thinking about trying it? Do let me know in the comments what you've bought or got your eye on!

P.S. You may have missed Thursday's post about my newsletter launch - you can sign up here! The first one will go out on 2nd September and then fortnightly after that... I'd love for us to keep in touch that way :-)
